Are you our next creative intern?
Published on 31st May 2023Hello Birmingham creatives,
We believe the future of creativity is community driven, which is why we’re fiercely committed to supporting the local creator culture. And we want to connect with you.
Putting creatives, illustrators and designers like you in the spotlight is an important part of this commitment. Our recent partnership with Birmingham Design and local illustrator Abbie Reilly resulted in a celebration of her incredible work in a unique location – the front of our building.
Whilst Abbie’s piece will remain on the building for a few more months, we have another opportunity we want to talk to you about – four paid six-week internships with our award-winning creative department.
Over the course of six weeks, you’ll be at the heart of our creative community. Feel the buzz of new ideas, perfect your portfolio and discover the possibilities of a career in advertising, all with the support of an experienced team.
Whatever you’re making, building, designing, crafting, composing, writing, directing or conceiving, let’s make it happen together.
The Brief
‘Imagine’ is the theme of Birmingham Design Festival 2023, where will your imagination take you? In whatever form you like (video, illustration, poem, spoken word or something completely different), capture what ‘imagine’ means to you, share on Instagram and tag @mccanncentral so we can spot your creation. Make sure you upload and tag us by Tuesday 6th June.
Perhaps you want to explore the power of dreams, or share what it is about Birmingham that sparks your imagination? Harness the power of your imagination and share your creative magic. And remember, there are no boundaries.
Our team of judges will then review the work and pick a select few to do a three-minute pitch to our Chief Creative Officer, Executive Creative Director, and Creative Director in our hidden presentation room on Thursday 8th June at BCU. Keep an eye on your DMs for the secret meeting location.
Entrants must be 18+ and available to work onsite three days per week for the duration of the internship.
