Published on 27th February 2025Kids’ Village, the UK’s first dedicated respite holiday village for children with critical illness, is delighted to announce the appointment of Lucy Hudson, Managing Director at McCann Birmingham, as a Board Trustee.
Lucy’s appointment follows the recently announced partnership between Kids’ Village and McCann Birmingham, which will see the leading integrated marketing and creative agency provide ongoing marketing consultancy, as well as leading a range of fundraising initiatives to support the charity’s mission.
Kids’ Village is an ambitious national charity working to raise £5 million to build a purpose-designed resort near Lichfield, featuring 10 four-bedroom lodges and a central facility known as ‘The Hive’. Inspired by Sam Fletcher-Goodwin, a childhood cancer survivor, the charity aims to create a haven where critically ill children and their families can enjoy much-needed respite.
Lucy Hudson brings a wealth of leadership and marketing expertise to the Board, alongside a deep personal commitment to the cause. Commenting on her new role, Lucy said: “Kids’ Village is a truly inspiring initiative, and I am honoured to join as a Board Trustee. This is a cause close to my heart, as I understand how uncertain and difficult life can be for families facing critical illness. The Village will provide a sanctuary for children and their loved ones, and I am passionate about helping to make this vision a reality. Supporting initiatives like Kids’ Village is also an important way to give back to the region and make a tangible difference in our local communities.”
Katrina Cooke, CEO at Kids' Village, welcomed Lucy to the Board, stating: “Lucy has been an incredible advocate for Kids’ Village through our partnership with McCann Birmingham, and we are thrilled to have her join our Board of Trustees. Her leadership, marketing expertise, and personal connection to our cause will be invaluable as we continue our journey to bring the Village to life.”
