McCann PR score big for Howden's

The McCann Birmingham team have supported Howdens in kicking off an ‘unbelievable’ grassroots football programme with the help of Chris Kamara.

To launch Howdens Kitchens’ £3 million Game Changer Programme in partnership with England Football, Portsmouth-based Hawks Community Youth FC became the first to benefit from a brand-new kitchen. The programme has been created to improve clubhouse facilities across grassroots football clubs in the UK. The McCann PR team organised a successful media event to support the launch.

The newly installed kitchen at Hawks will be a hub of social activity, where supporters can enjoy a cuppa, the army of club volunteers can dry off their wet feet and players can retreat to celebrate or commiserate after putting in the hard yards on the pitch. And as the club continues to grow, the positive impact of the programme will only be felt by more and more across the community.

Further to that, Hawks hopes the modernised kitchen will also increase income streams and improve the overall financial health of the club, so that it continues to thrive.

In celebration of the project, football pundit and former Portsmouth midfielder, Chris Kamara, MBE opened the exciting new setup before jumping in goal for a friendly penalty shootout with children from the club.

Following the event, the team secured some great results with key regional, national, broadcast and radio coverage.
