PR & Social team scoop Public Sector gong at PRCA DARE awards

Our Birmingham PR & Social team claimed the Public Sector Award at the PRCA DARE awards last night for work with Midlands Connect, the sub-national transport body. Working closely with Midlands Connect’s in house team, we set about ‘Making Regional Transport a National Conversation’.

As part of the campaign we arranged media briefings with key national and sector journalists resulting in greater national awareness, strong relationships and coverage in The Times and Telegraph as well as leading road and rail press titles. Broadcast coverage was also secured with in-depth features on BBC News, BBC Five Live Drive, BBC Midlands Today, BBC Sunday Politics and a headline appearance on Sky Sunrise for the Autumn Statement.

Our content-led approach extended across digital platforms with use of social and film (created by McCann Craft Central - our specialist film and broadcast unit) which maximised insightful and supportive interviews with major international businesses across the region. Not only did the campaign generate great coverage, it also helped to secure funding direct from government for Midlands Connect to continue its work in getting the Midlands moving faster. All in all, a great example of how integrated comms and evergreen content can deliver tangible business results.
